The Profile 

Renowned hotelier with over forty five years of hotel industry experience, Qasim Jafri, is an alumni of Cornell University, USA as well as the Hotel School at Klessheim Castle, Salzburg, Austria. He is a seasoned hotel professional who has worked with known hotel chains in Europe, Middle East, Canada, and Pakistan, such as Hilton International and Marriott International, as well as Pearl Continental and Avari Hotels International.


He was General Manager of various 5-star hotels around the world. He has served as COO of Nishat Hotels, Director of the Hospitality Division of Orient Group, CEO of Imperium Hospitality, and as COO and Advisor to the Board of Directors of Marriott Hotels in Pakistan.


Public Service and Advisory Roles:

Tourism: Member of the Board of Directors of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and serves on the steering committee of the World Bank-funded program for Tourism uplift.

Diplomacy: Member of the Foreign Minister’s Core Group on Cultural Diplomacy.

Heritage: Member of the Advisory Council of the Lahore and Taxila Museums.

 

Cultural and Social Contributions:

A professional with multiple passions, including the preservation and promotion of poetry, literature, music, environment, and cultural heritage.

Leadership: President of the Board of Governors of the Goethe Institute Lahore.

Board Memberships: Member of the Board of Directors of Dabistan-e-Iqbal, the Faiz Foundation, and Joy of Urdu.

Advocacy: Member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.


Linguistic Skills:

Multilingual,  fluent in English, German Urdu, Punjabi, and Farsi (Persian).

In 1889 he did his double Tripos i.e. Master's degrees in six subjects, English, History, Jurisprudence, Law, Philosophy and Political Economy. Was the first principal of Islamia College, Lahore.

Muhammad Jafri

M.A Persian and English. Officer in the Information Service of Pakistan. Pakistan's foremost humorous and satirical poet.




Batool Jafri

Married to Bari Phuphi's son Yunus who died in a car accident in 1983 when their eldest daughter Sadia was eight, Sarah was four and a half and the youngest Sakina was three and a half months old. Batool died of heart failure in London.
